The mission of the Department of Insurance is to enforce the insurance laws and regulations of the state impartially, honestly and expeditiously. The Louisiana Department of Insurance is seeking an Attorney 1/2/3 to join the Office of Legal Services/Regulatory Section. In this position, you will provide legal support and guidance on matters involving Louisiana insurance laws and regulations, regulatory activities, legislation, and other issues affecting the Department and the insurance industry. As an Attorney 1/2/3 in the Office of Legal Services/Regulatory Section, you will/may: Provide legal advice, research, and support on matters involving Louisiana insurance laws and regulations and applicable federal laws. Draft and review legal and regulatory documents, including bulletins, directives, advisory letters, regulations, memoranda, and other legal documents. Assist with or represent the Department in administrative proceedings and state and federal litigation, including legal research, pleadings, trial preparation, and appeals. Review proposed legislation affecting the Department and Louisiana insurance industry and provide legal analysis and recommendations.
