This vacancy is for a GS-1105-7 Purchasing Agent with the U.S. Coast Guard, Base New Orleans Procurement and Contracting Department, in New Orleans, Louisiana. You will serve as a Purchasing Agent responsible for procurement supporting Base New Orleans and its area of responsibility, including acquisition of supplies, services (including architect-engineering), or construction. Typical work assignments include: - Acquisition of supplies, services, or emergency response to procure any commodity/service - Acquiring a wide range of noncomplex services, supplies, and equipment under simplified acquisition regulations - Negotiating and awarding purchases that may involve complexities such as professional/technical service orders considering past performance and/or technical capabilities - Monitoring progress and status of orders and protecting the government's rights by enforcing all terms and conditions - Making final determinations on partial and final payments, contractor compliance with contract clauses, and price and delivery adjustments
