Processes fingerprint images and initiates search/match of criminal and applicant fingerprint cards utilizing the multiple processor semi-automated fingerprint identification system Duties Monitors Read/Edit (the input station) ensuring correct fingerprint classification, core delta distance, minutiae count, clarity and position of image for each finger. Overrides the system as necessary to correct erroneous information or manually positions and processes prints rejected by the system classifier. Encodes or deletes minutia as necessary in order to enhance the possibility of a match. Evaluates match reports to verify that correct search parameter information was entered into the database. Views respondent images on Display/Edit station for possible identification against ten-print fingerprint cards and unsolved latent file. Resolves minor computer malfunctions that may occur and notifies appropriate co-worker/supervisor. Compiles and disseminates information collected from criminal justice agencies. Maintains accounting record of users who access arrest histories.
