The LPN functions as a member of the clinical team at the Southeast Louisiana Veterans Health Care System, providing complex nursing procedures and basic care of acutely ill and chronic patients across inpatient and outpatient mental health, primary and specialty clinics, the Community Living Center and Med Surg. Duties include wound management and dressing changes, ostomy and catheter care, specimen collection, clinical intake and screening, tracheotomy care, assisting with specialty exams, patient teaching and documentation in CPRS.
